Get tips on how to network & build professional relationships in Australia!
11th Space brings you 11th Talks – a series of fortnightly interactive talks designed to equip international students in preparing them for their next stage in life.
This event is proudly supported by our community partners, the Indonesian Student Associations (PPIA) at RMIT University, Deakin University, Swinburne University, Monash University, PPIA Victoria, Indonesian Diaspora Network Australia, Superstar Education and RMIT Student Entrepreneurship network.
In this episode, we will discuss How to Network as an International Student. For those soon to graduate & hunting for a job – networking is a key skill to master. As they say – it’s not what you know, but who you know, that matters!
If you’ve always wanted to learn & polish your skills to build your professional network effectively in Australia, this is the event for you. The session will be moderated by Kennie Kurniawan, Marketing Manager of 11th Space, with speakers Kial Jarred, Marketing Communications Manager at Xynergy Realty and Bryna, Marketing & Sales Strategist at iDibs – both are seasoned networkers & will share from a point of view of an ex-international student & an Australian employer.
This event is an interactive Q&A so be ready with your questions!
We will discuss topics such as:
- Why is networking important?
- What’s the best way to develop a new professional contact in Australia?
- What are some of the dos and don’ts when introducing yourself at a networking event?
- What is the best way to approach a new connection online, either by email or LinkedIn?
- What are some of the cultural differences relating to networking and workplace that we need to be aware of in Australia?
What do I need to join?
Make sure you are connected via Zoom from your mobile, tablet or computer from your home or anywhere you would like. Don’t forget to ensure the camera and microphone are turned on and working.
How does it work?
You can be as involved as you want.
Don’t be shy! you can ask your question directly to the speakers.
But, if you prefer to just listen, that’s totally okay!
Who is this event for?
- University students
- International students
