Be inspired by how these ex-international students overcome their challenges & work their way up to be successful business owners!

11th Space brings you a series of fortnightly interactive talks designed to equip international students in preparing them for their next stage in life. This event is proudly supported by our community partners, the Indonesian Student Associations (PPIA) at RMIT University, Deakin University, Swinburne University, Monash University, PPIA Victoria, Indonesian Diaspora Network Australia, Superstar Education and RMIT Student Entrepreneurship network.

This is the fifth episode of 11th Talks that will discuss about Starting a Business from Humble Beginnings. We all dream big, but starting small might be the key to entrepreneurship. Rather than letting your worries and limitations stop you from starting a business, learn how to use what you have in your hands and cultivate it into a thriving business.

The session will be moderated by Kennie Kurniawan, Marketing Manager of 11th space, with speakers Margaret Goenarto, Founder & Interior Designer of IM Home and Hansel Widjaja, Managing Director of Sanitized who will talk about their experience as ex-international students and migrants to Australia, especially how they worked tirelessly to build their businesses from virtually nothing.

We will discuss topics such as:

  • How to overcome self-doubt & worries when starting a business at a young age?
  • How can an international student start a business in Australia?
  • How do you identify opportunities for a business?
  • Tips to have a successful business in Australia as a migrant
